The historic aspect of Clandeboye Estate is already widely recognised, but now, thanks to the dedication of Lady Dufferin and her team over the last twenty years, it is now entering a new era of recognition for its botanical collections and natural biodiversity, The new partnership will not only provide Kew with additional research facilities but will also create opportunities for gardeners, together with botanical and scientific researchers in the North & South of Ireland to access the global reference collections of the prestigious Royal Botanic Gardens Kew

Public Lecture Wed. 18th June at 7pm

Peter Crane the Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew will be at Clandeboye Estate to conduct a public lecture on Wed. 18th June at 7pm Peter will give those attending an illuminating insight into the extraordinary diversity of work undertaken by Kew.
On the same evening, Tony Kirkham, Head of the Arboretum, will describe his recent plant-hunting trip to parts of China that have not been visited since the early years of the last century. This will be a rare opportunity to hear two internationally acclaimed speakers.

"Morning in the Woods" 10.00am - 12.30pm
A team of 10 leading horticulturist and conservation experts from Kew together with staff from Clandeboye, the Ulster Museum and Conservation Volunteers will guide a fascinating walking tour of some of the conservation projects that are being undertaken on the estate in a unique partnership between Clandeboye, Kew, the Ulster Museum and Conservation Volunteers.

"Afternoon in the Gardens" 2.00pm - 6.00pm
This will be an opportunity to explore the gardens and for horticulturists to join Lady Dufferin, Fergus Thompson the Head gardener, and the staff from Kew to examine and discuss the climatic variations between Kew and Clandeboye and the extensive and exciting Clandeboye botanical collection.

Tickets - £9.00 including afternoon tea -Optional - Picnic Lunch Box £6.00
